Snow Flower

Winter day, all night heavy snow fall. Bright morning very very cold. Jafar had a sleepless night. He was over whelmingly surprised to see so much snow, never having had the experience before. So he decide to make something with this nature wonder. He looked around and started his Installation with Snow,Glass, Grass and nature. Nearly six hours of rolling and creating work that is far from the traditional art making ending with the finishing touch of glass in every roll of snow to have a glimpse of reflection from sky.The entire work was covered more than a six acre of open field at Brockhall Village Lanc.UK. 1996.

"Oie Hetha" ( 7' X 9' )

Oil & Acrylic colour on canvas.

Jafar started this work while he was at Goldsmiths college 1991, then gradually he worked on the painting for more than 9 years up to the end of 2000 at his Dockland studio. Most of the time Jafar worked in the night when every one was asleep. He'd have classical FM radio on to tune him in to his world. He'd spend hour after hour looking at the painting and when he started work he was joyous and he would sometime make his own sound while danching with his brushes and painting. The title of the painting is Oie Hetha, it's a Bangla word meaning in English "Look at far way".
