Described as a catalyst in her field, an irreverent razor-sharp wit and disarming honesty runs through her work. Julie McNamara pulls no punches. She can move an audience from laughter to tears and back again.

She is an award-winning singer, songwriter, playwright and performer. Her play: Pig Tales was a first commission for Xposure Festival of Disability Arts and has proved a hit with audiences from Ireland to Australia. The piece has toured extensively and earned her two awards and ‘Critics Choice’ in the prestigious Sunday Telegraph and the Times.

A radical queer activist and outspoken survivor of the mental health system, her writing has been widely published (Women’s Press, Rontledge, Survivor’s Press, Cassell) and her extraordinary performances have graced the stages of a wide range of venues from the Royal Festival Hall, ICA, from West Midlands to Wanganui.

Julie has been awarded The Lifetime’s achievement Award from DaDa Festival Liverpool 2006!

She’s mad, she’s baaad and she’s up for it. Are you ready for this?
